Enterémonos ¿Qué es la FIFPro?, primero.

La FIFPro -Federación Internacional de Futbolistas Profesionales-, es propiamente el sindicato mundial de futbolistas su misión principal consiste en defender los derechos e intereses de los futbolistas profesionales ante las federaciones, clubes, empresas patrocinadoras u otros agentes del ámbito profesional. Congrega internacionalmente a futbolistas de 40 asociaciones nacionales y cuenta con unos 50.000 miembros.  De todos ellos, más de 24.000 futbolistas profesionales de todo el mundo eligen el equipo ideal en una formación que ellos establecen y deciden: el Premio The Best al jugador de la FIFA, el Premio The Best a la jugadora de la FIFA, el Premio The Best al guardameta de la FIFA, el Premio The Best al entrenador de la FIFA de fútbol masculino, el Premio The Best al entrenador de la FIFA de fútbol femenino, el Premio Puskás de la FIFA, el Premio a la afición de la FIFA y el Premio Fair Play de la FIFA. ES DECIR LA FIFPro TIENE UN DETERMINADO PESO Y RECONOCIMIENTO ANTE LA PODEROSA E INTOCABLE FIFA.  

Los orígenes de la FIFPro lindan desde 1965, cuando representantes de las asociaciones de futbolistas profesionales de Francia, Escocia, Inglaterra, Italia y Países Bajos se reunieron en París para unir fuerzas. Tras tres años de reuniones y trabajo, FIFPro fue formalmente registrada y reconocida el 20 de febrero de 1968, y fijó su primera sede en París, Francia.

En la actualidad tiene su sede central en Hoofddorp, entre Ámsterdam y La Haya, en los Países Bajos, está presidida por el ex futbolista francés de origen marroquí Philippe Piat, uno de sus doce vicepresidentes, casualmente es el peruano, Fernando Revilla - SAFAP/Perú.

Aquí están agremiados miembros de las asociaciones de jugadores más importantes del mundo, como la española, la inglesa o la italiana, en América las representaciones de Argentina y Brasil son las importantes. Es importante recalcar que existen asociaciones como la alemana y la paraguaya que no forman parte de la FIFPro.

Hay que tener en cuenta que la FIFPro a reconocido a "Mejor jugador del mundo" -Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro-, y al "Mejor futbolista joven" -Lionel Messi Cuccittini-.

Lo triste de toda esta realidad es que ningún jugador peruano integró esta terna. Ni nuestro reconocido Hugo Sotil Yerén «Cholo» Sotil. Preocupante en verdad.

FIFPro - International Federation of Professional Footballers - is the world footballers union, its main mission is to defend the rights and interests of professional footballers before federations, clubs, sponsoring companies or other professional agents. It brings together internationally footballers from 40 national associations and has some 50,000 members.
